We are interested to hear from prospective postdocs interested in any or all of the following: islet biology, single-cell biology, electrophysiology, cell signalling, and modelling/bioinformatics. We have multiple new positions available to start soon or in the near future. Two are listed below.

Patrick (pmacdonald@ualberta.ca)

Postdoctoral Fellow in Cell Phenotyping / Islet Cell Biology. We are looking for postdoctoral fellows interested in understanding the connections between molecular and functional properties of cells - particularly the links between molecular and functional phenotypes of human pancreatic islet cells in health and diabetes. Fellows will have access to our in-house human pancreas/islet biobank; expertise cell profiling by ephys and imaging; and will be expected to work closely with our international partners in single-cell biology, modelling and bioinformatics.
Contact Dr. MacDonald for further information. Informal inquiries welcome.

Postdoctoral Fellow in Alpha-cell Function in T1D. This position is part of a joint project on functional phenotyping of human alpha-cells in health and T1D and mouse alpha-cells in T1D models; and the application of computational methods/modelling to integrate functional and transcriptomic data-sets. Ideal for someone looking for a mix of cell physiology and computational biology. Note: The position is based in Oxford, UK and is therefore subject to the recruiting policies of the University of Oxford.
